All the many recreational activities for which the Texas Hill Country is famous for are available on or near the River Road Ranch Resort. Relax as you sit on the porch to watch the sun rise or set. Watch the ranch animals stroll by or closely encounter the land and the livestock with a walk down to the barn around feeding time.

Enjoy the Pedernales River by relaxing in a tube and floating in the river during the summer months or take the paddleboat or a canoe and make your way up the river. For the fisherman, cast out your line in one of the finest deep holes on the Pedernales, where bass and catfish abound. Or just relax and have a picnic on the sandy shore as you enjoy nature and watch our four pet geese meander slowly through the water.

Feeling more energetic? Many arrowheads, dating back as much as 12,000 years, have been found on the ranch in the past year, and you are welcome to go on your own "archaeological dig." River Road also provides a quiet, windy road for walking or biking. Or tour the countryside around Fredericksburg on your motorcycle or in your sports car. We have tour maps available upon request .

The ranch is strategically located for sight-seeing excursions in the scenic surrounding countryside. Sign up for the wine tour and be picked up at your front door. Head out to Enchanted Rock for a day of hiking or enjoy strolling through the quaint shops of historic downtown Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country offer something for everyone!
